Transitions or linking words are words or phrases used to change scope of a sentence, by linking them together. They keep cohesiveness when reading long sentences, and help to convey thoughts processes in easier to understand manner.

Types of Transition Words

Addition: furthermore, moreover, firstly, secondly, thirdly, indeed etc.

Cause: therefore, consequentially, etc.

Conclusion: Finally, in conclusion, lasting, closing off, etc.
